Dowley Turner Real Estate has been appointed by F&C REIT to dispose of 5 Bedford Park in Croydon. The 47,000 sq ft office building constructed in 1988 will be sold freehold with vacant possession. The building is within the main office core, close to East Croydon station and adjacent the Berkeley Homes, Saffron Square development. Simon Glenn of DTRE states, ‘With the news that Westfield and Hammerson are making good progress on the new retail heart for Croydon, investors are now actively searching for opportunities in and around the CBD.
Croydon used to be a dirty word but those that may have overlooked Croydon in the past are now seriously considering the town. Croydon is on the up and after all, it is only 15 minutes by train from London Bridge or Victoria stations. This is a good quality office building and given the potential for alternative uses it could suit a number of different parties.’ DTRE have been appointed jointly with Hanover Green and Stiles Harold Williams.
